‘Jawani Sambhal Yatra’ Congress Targets Young Voters For Upcoming Punjab Elections

Upcoming Punjab Election 2017 lay heavily on the fact where youth of Punjab decides to vote, Congress today launched 'Jawani Sambhal Yatra' (Youth Care March).

 

The week long march was kickstarted by Punjab Congress Legislature Party Chief and the leader of the Opposition, Charanjit Singh Channi at Sri Chamkaur Sahib. Nearly 1000 cyclists participated in the run to create awareness and mobilise the youths against social evils and press for their rights including that to employment.

"This Yatra would criss-cross 23 Assembly constituencies in the Malwa region. The motto of the yatra is to create awareness among the youth of Punjab against drugs, unemployment and corruption. The yatra on the first day crossed the assembly constituency of Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Morinda town, Khamanoo town falling in Bassi Pathana and finally ending up at Samrala," Charanjit Singh Channi said.

 

The Congress leader said another objective of the cycle yatra was to create eco-awareness in the context of the increasing pollution. He said the youth should lead the eco-awareness campaign by reverting to the use of bicycle as cycling was healthy also.
